Clark Arthur
McNaughton
Aug 26, 1948 — Sep 2, 2026
Clark Arthur McNaughton passed away September 2, 2026 after an unfortunate cardiac event and extended illness associated with heart disease at his home in Kennewick, WA. Clark was born on August 26, 1948 in Hibbing, Minnesota to David and Dorothy McNaughton and lived a full life that spanned 78 years. He is survived by his widow Beverly Ann McNaughton.
Clark earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University in the late 1960s. He went on to build a very successful career as a chemical engineer specializing in environmental and metallurgical processes engineering for several companies. Locations were in El Paso, TX, S Plainfield, NJ, Fairfield, OH, Pocatello, ID, and Hanford, WA along with several other positions not mentioned here. He retired from his position as Chief Metallurgist in Hanford, WA spanning 15-20 years at that engineering position.
Clark, by the character and content of his classified status at his jobs, maintained a very private profile as he really didn't want anyone to know what he was doing due the sensitive nature of his job responsibilities. Nonetheless, his performance and service were very honorable to his companies and to his country. Clark married Beverly Ann in the late 1970s and proceeded to his Fairfield, OH position. Clark was a devoted and loving husband all the way to his final days recently. Clark and Beverly Ann didn't have any children but had numerous dogs which they humorously referred to as their children.
Clark was most notably a fanatical Los Angeles Dodger MLB baseball fan and a Dallas Cowboy NFL football fan. He had numerous hobbies to keep him busy such as maintaining his beautiful yard at all of his homes and collecting various assets. His neighbors referred to Clark as private but always willing to help a neighbor in need.
Clark went to Cobre High School in Bayard, NM where he was known as a stellar football and baseball standout for each sport. He also played Little League baseball and was a standout pitcher where he threw and won the league's championship game.
Clark was a very responsible and credible US citizen, homeowner of multiple homes throughout his lifetime, and a worthy contributor to a demanding and developing US environmental profession. He will be sorely missed by his wife, Beverly Ann, his neighbors, and all who new him. He set a prime example of how we should as US citizens strive to excel in life, family, and career.
