Donna Eileen (Davison) Wright was born 5/25/1933 in Fountain, Michigan to Oscar and Retta Davison. She graduated from Fountain High School in 1952 and married Richard (Dick) Wright April 29, 1952.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Wright in 2009, and leaves behind six children, Wayne Wright, Marcia (Sidney) Bevans, David (Ruth) Wright, Larry Wright, Gary Wright, and Noreen (David) Fair. She was also loved by her nine grandchildren, Melissa (David) Ruth, Kasmira Wright, Scott (Jill) Bevans, Jessica (John) Lambert, Michael Wright, Brian Wright, Colleen Renae (John) Ryan, Allison Fair, Claire Fair and nine great grandchildren, Katrina (Johnathan) Best, Alex Wright, Timothy Ruth, Erin Ruth, Elizabeth Ruth, Angel Wright, Hanna Bevans, Harper Bevans, Katherine Lambert. She also has 3 remaining siblings, Marie Steenhagen, Wayne Davison, and Karla Brown. Her older brother, George Davison, preceded her in death in March of 2023.

Donna's love for the written word began in childhood. She was given a book for Christmas and it was such a treasure! In school, she dreamt of becoming an author someday. One of her teacher's commented that she would be a great short-story writer because she was so short!

During her teen years, she stayed with a couple who had twins and helped care for them. One night, Dolly, the mother, shared the gospel with her and asked her if she had ever asked Jesus to be her savior. Donna had gone to church all of her life, but had never made a decision to put her trust in Him. Her prayer that night began her spiritual journey, and she walked with Jesus right up until the day she died.

While raising her children in Michigan, she was active in community and church affairs and wrote articles for the Lakewood newspaper.  In 1965, after Dick contracted viral pneumonia, they moved to Watsonville, California for a warmer climate. She managed Dick's ServiceMaster business and supplemented the family income by selling Fuller Brush, Real Silk (stockings), Tupperware, Home Interiors, and homemade breads and cakes. There, they attended the First Baptist Church of Watsonville where she started a Pioneer Girls Club and taught Religious Release classes after school. She also served as the camp cook during the Pioneer Girls summer camp.

When Larry was taking classes at Cabrillo College, she returned to school and got her AA Degree in 1980.

After another big Bay Area earthquake in 1980, Dick decided he had enough of California. After selling his business in 1981, they moved up to Walla Walla, WA to be closer to Marcie's family and some better fishing spots.

Donna again managed his cleaning business and also got a job as a cashier at Eastgate Drugs on Isaacs Street. Later on, she worked part time at the Booktique on Main Street for several years. She also volunteered to sort and price the books donated to the Blue Mountain Humane Society Thrift Store across the street. She taught Sunday School classes at White Temple Baptist Church and sold Christian books at Book Fairs and home parties through Successful Living.

Her favorite things to talk about were books and Ireland. The two trips she made to Ireland were the highlights of her life. She also enjoyed studying about history, working puzzles, gardening, travelling. She spent many years searching hundreds of hymnals to try to find all of the hymns that Fanny Crosby wrote, including those published under pen names.

In 2000, when she was 67 years old, she bought the inventory of the Booktique and started her own used bookstore, Just Right Books, on Alder Street. It was a dream come true!  When she outgrew the space there, she moved the store to a larger building on Isaacs Street. She was known for her ability to locate any book her customers needed if she had it in her vast inventory! She closed the bookstore in 2018 after being in business for 18 years. Even after closing her store, she continued to sell books online for several years.

When her health began to decline, she moved to her daughter's house in Pasco, WA. She stepped into heaven on December 8, 2024.

A Memorial service will be held in Walla Walla in the spring of 2025.
