James Leon Maxson passed away Saturday October 11,2025 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland,WA at the age of 76. He was born in Rockford,IL on March 12,1949 to James and Margaret Maxson. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Nancy,His Daughter Angelique White,His sons Chris Ellis,Jason Ellis,Joe Owens,John McCullough and James Owens. And many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He is preceded by death by his parents. James grew up in Illinois and recalled early memories of his time there fondly. His first job was at a local stable where his primary responsibility was exercising the horses. This would be his first of a long list of adventures. In 1970 he joined the Air Force and was a Survival Instructor until he was honorably discharged in 1976 reaching the rank of Sergeant. In 1977 he joined the Kennewick Police Department and retired in 1993. He then worked security at the Hanford Nuclear Site for a few years. In 1990 he married Nancy Morey who he called the love of his life. In doing so he brought her sons into the family and treated them like his own. Jim loved playing miniature battles on a game board with his father and later with his son Jimmy,who won only once through the years,Jim being humerous even wrote out a note of surrender. He loved John Wayne movies and watching TV with his wife and two of his boys and his Boxer Ellie. Jim will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Especially his wife and Children
