Mary Esther Hughes born 6-6-49 at Yakima Memorial Hospital and passed away on 6-23-26 at Life Care Center of Kennewick. She was treated with the utmost love & care there and was able to spend her final months and moments surrounded by family. She was adopted by Ralph & Esther Kirby of Selah, WA. She had one adopted brother William "Bill" Kirby who have all preceded her in death. She left behind daughters Tonya Danielle Callies married to Richard Wayne Callies of Richland WA and Erika Marie Ely married to Timothy Ely of Spokane WA Grandchildren Janelle Rae Wassing married to Joshua Wassing, Jacob Osborn and Alexandra Osborn of Tri-Cities WA and Great Granddaughters Nonia Callies, Kyla Callies and Lilly Neal of Tri-Cities WA. She also left behind her very best friend Diana Taylor of Selah, WA. She was so very proud of daughters whom she raised to be strong, independent and loving. She had an incredible sense of humor and wit. She loved to cook huge meals for large groups even if there wasn't a large group to eat it. Her spirit and her joy was contagious.

Close family members will be gathering for a private celebration of life.
