Obituary

Randy Earl Dunn, "Big Red", #9, passed away on November 19, 2025. He was born on May 14, 1953 in Branson, Missouri to Robert and Lois Dunn. Randy grew up in the Hood River, Oregon area. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Navy, where he would serve in Vietnam. He traveled all over the world in the Navy, this is where he would meet his best friends and brothers for life, Kelly Huffaker, Dwayne and Doug Perini.

Randy would later take the training he garnered as a machinist in the Navy to become a millwright as a tradesman, and would go on to have a 45+ year career working for Sandvik Special Metals and Boise Cascade paper mill.

Randy enjoyed fishing (loved to catch them, but would not eat them!) and hunting. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for many years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, where he was usually the comedian (he sure thought so!) and life of the party. He looked forward to the annual Dunn family reunion, chukar camp, and trips to see his Minnesota family. All of these were spent with the people he loved and were full of shenanigans and stories that will be shared for years to come.

Randy was a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Randy is survived by his wife of 33 years and the love of his life, JoAnne Dunn. His children Shiela (Rodger) Barnes, Robert "Bob" (Shari) Dunn, LeeAnn Truax, Chris (Tawny) Truax, and son in law Wayne Barnes. Grandchildren Kendra Barnes, Chris (Baylea) Dunn, Ashley Dunn, Joshua Barnes, Shailyn Brackett,  Noah Truax, and Stella Truax. His great granddaughter, his pride and joy, Violet Dunn. Brothers Richard Dunn and Dean (Linda) Dunn, and sister Teresa (Vern) Seal. His special buddy Tolken. Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Randy was preceded in death by parents Robert Alvin and Lois Elaine Dunn. His siblings Robert Dunn, Jean Parsons, Don Dunn, Ken Dunn, Kay Ontiveros, Sue Parsons, Jerry Dunn, and Howard Keith Dunn. Best friends and honorary brothers Kelly (Angie) Huffaker, Dwayne and Doug Perini, and many more family and friends.
