Obituary

Russell Arthur Wallace

August 20, 1941 - June 30, 2026

Russell Arthur Wallace, affectionately known to many as "Blue" and "Johnny," passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by the love of his family.

Russell was born on August 20, 1941, in Los Angeles, California, to Etta (Heimer) Wallace and Harrison Benjamin Wallace. He was raised in Oklahoma, where he developed the values of hard work, resilience, and faith that would guide him throughout his life.

In 1970, Russell married the love of his life, Edna Mae (Mason) Wallace. Together they built a life rooted in faith, perseverance, laughter, and unconditional love, sharing almost 60 years of marriage. Their relationship was a testament to enduring commitment through every season of life. As they promised one another on their wedding day, "until death do us part," Edna faithfully remained by Russell's side through his final moments, holding his hand as he peacefully entered his eternal home. Their love story was one of unwavering devotion, and the vows they made to each other were honored until his last breath.

In 1976, Russell began his career with Lampson, where he became known by the nickname "Blue," a nod to the distinctive blue cranes he painted with pride for many years. He loved his work and was known as a dependable, hardworking man who took great pride in every job he completed. Whether on the job site or at home, Russell believed in giving his best and providing for those he loved.

He possessed a quick wit and an unforgettable sense of humor, bringing laughter to countless family gatherings and conversations. He also found joy in fishing, listening to Elvis Presley, and spending time with those he loved. His greatest foundation was his faith in Jesus Christ. In his younger years, he became ordained, and his faith remained an important part of his life

Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Etta (Heimer) Wallace and Harrison Benjamin Wallace; his sister, Marian; his brothers, Gene and Shirley; his son, Marcus Wallace; his daughter, Dwan Camacho (2021); and his stepdaughter, Renae Clark (2023).

Russell leaves behind his beloved wife, Edna Wallace; children, Buddy Wallace, Dodi Wallace, Trisha Wallace, Debra Vonn, and Angela Wallace; his stepson, Neal McPeek; many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family members; and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, humor, faith, and steadfast work ethic.

Russell will be remembered as a hardworking provider, a faithful servant of God, a gifted storyteller and comedian, and a man whose life demonstrated that people are capable of growth, redemption, and lasting change. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the faith he shared, and the many lives he touched throughout his 84 years.

Though our hearts grieve his absence, we find comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of his Savior, hearing the words he longed to hear:

"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
