Obituary

Susan was loved by all who knew her. She was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity. Her dedication to her family, her passion for gardening, and her unwavering commitment to helping animals and those in need left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

Throughout her life, Susan wore many hats, balancing her career at the Tri-City Herald for a decade, caring for her ailing mother Naomi, and raising her two loving sons.

Her selflessness extended beyond her immediate family, as she volunteered her time and energy to the pet overpopulation society, demonstrating her deep compassion for all living creatures.

Susan is preceeded in death by her husband Kenneth Allyne Hoopengarner, her mother Naomi Bailey, her father Tom Bailey Jr., and her sisters Bobby and Kitty. However, Susan's legacy lives on through her sons Scott (& Melina) Michels and Brad (& Colleen) Michels, her sister Gail (& Dave) Morris, her grandchildren Crystal, Jade, and Sawyer Michels, and a large, loving family.

Susan's impact was far-reaching, with friends scattered across the globe, from the Netherlands to Chicago to the Tri-Cities and beyond. Her loyal and compassionate nature endeared her to all who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished.

Susan was a true and loyal friend.  She will always be loved and never forgotten.
