Richland - Susan Phillips, 54, died Monday evening, May 18th, 2026, after a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Born Susan Paulette Carroll to Foster and Francis Carroll in Longview, Washington on Friday, May 21st, 1971. 'Susie', as she was lovingly called throughout her life, grew up in Southwestern Washington, where she attended Evergreen High School. She briefly moved to Kansas City when she was 19 before moving back to the Pacific Northwest. After her return, she earned her GED from Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington. Susie traveled to and lived in various states and cities including Washington, Oregon, Missouri, Texas, Arkansas, Montana, New York, and many more. After her return to Washington, she earned a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate and spent the rest of her professional career working in healthcare in various nursing homes and hospitals in Washington, New York, and Oregon.

Susie loved music, television, traveling, and cooking for her family. She also had a passion for football and all things competitive.

She is survived by her four beloved children, Braydon, Michelle, Raelynn, and Dawn; her partner of 24 years, Richard; her siblings, Russ (Sandi), Rosemary, Mike (Kate), and Paula; as well as her lifelong best friend, Cynthia; (3) grandchildren; multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Susie's burial will be held at Fern Hill Cemetery with a Celebration of Life to follow at Vista Park. Day and Time will be announced at a later date.
